The meeting between specialists from the Norwegian Radiation Protection and Nuclear Safety Authority (DSA), the State Nuclear Regulatory Inspectorate of Ukraine (SNRIU) and the Ukrainian State Scientific and Technical Centre for Nuclear and Radiation Safety (SSTC-NRS) was held in Drammen, Norway, on 27-29 November.

The aim of the three-day seminar was to share progress in a range of projects to support colleagues in Ukraine, in their efforts to maintain regulatory activities in the face of acute challenges arising from military aggression, also affecting nuclear and radiation facilities.

Participants also included experts from France (IRSN) and Finland (STUK), highlighting the value of multi-national cooperation strengthening safety and the fight against terrorism.

Norway continues to strongly support such work, and has increased its funding for nuclear safety and security in Ukraine in 2023 by NOK 250 million.
